Mary's qualifications:

Mary's experience includes:
Mary has been practising rehabilitation since 1989. She has been elected to work on committees in relation to best practices for service delivery for Department of Defence, Non English Speaking Background (NESB) workers, Early Intervention, and Work Capacity Assessments. Mary has worked for both the government and private agencies and has undertaken claims management training.
Mary has assisted Insurance Agents with managing their claims as a Rehabilitation Advisor and providing a consultancy service. Mary has knowledge of various industries and she has worked with severely disabled clients with integrating them into the workforce and community via vocational planning and job placement.
 
Mary has assisted Self Insured, State and Commonwealth Government employers with their injured workers. Mary has successfully negotiated return to work programs working alongside Unions, legal providers and establishing alliances with Job Network Providers.
Mary was nominated for the following Awards.
 
The WorkCover Recovery and Return to Work Awards in 2007 and 2008, and was a Winner in 2007.
Telstra Small Business Awards and was a finalist in 2008.
 
The Personal Excellence In Personal Injury Management Awards in 2008.
Mary has been continually approached by Insurance Agents to undertake innovative project work in Job Placement, Work Capacity Reviews, Suitable Assessments, Culturally and Linguistically Diversified (CALD) clients.

Rachel's experience includes:
Rachel has been practising rehabilitation since 2001 and has specialized in assisting individuals with long-term, complex injuries. She has assisted previous Rehabilitation Companies with Quality Assurance and consistently looks at ways to improve return-to-work services.
 
Rachel joined MSVS in 2007, and has been assisting the team with placing job seekers into new employment. She has a range of employer networks, and her ongoing communication with these Agencies has enhanced a positive return to work process. Rachel has also been involved with educating employers with the benefits of taking on injured workers in the workplace, and works with both registered employers and self-insured.

Kerryn's qualifications:

Kerryn's experience includes:
Kerryn has extensive experience both with claims management and rehabilitation services, having previously worked as a Case Manager with an Insurance Agent for Workers Compensation. Kerryn joined MS Vocational Services in July 2005 and has experience both with return to work pre-injury employer and transition and job-seeking services. Kerryn has worked with claims through Insurance Agents, Self-Insured Employers, Government and Department of Defence.
 
Kerryn has assisted with developing and managing a number of projects since coming to MSVS. These have included a job-seeking pilot project utilising the services of a Job Network Provider to assist placing injured workers into suitable employment. Kerryn has also been involved in the development, implementation and management of an Intensive English and Job-Seeking Skills program for CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) clients. This program has been developed in conjunction with Dennis Aistrope Tutoring and aims to teach CALD clients the required English and communication skills for obtaining alternative employment and teaching job seeking skills such as developing resumes and application letters.
 
Kerryn has extensive experience working in particular with long-term job-seeking clients. Kerryn has a high success rate with assisting injured workers to undertake re-training and return to alternative employment when they are unable to return to their pre-injury occupation.
 
Kerryn has been individually nominated in both 2007 and 2008 for the WorkCover Recovery and Return to Work Awards, and was a finalist in the 2008 awards program.
Kerryn has Injury Manager accreditation with WorkCoverSA (accredited Case Manager training)

Alex's qualifications:

Alex's experience includes:
Alex has over nine years experience as an Injury Management Coordinator with Rexco, Cozwine Personnel and ANZ Bank. Alex assisted Rexco successfully with the following:
•       50% reduction in claims costs
•       Reduction in severity of injuries
•       Developed and implemented rehabilitation procedures
•       Developed relationships and networks to assist with the return to work processes
•       Established a rehabilitation panel
•       Established a program for site safety inspection under direction of the Risk Manager.
Alex has been involved as an employer representative, has knowledge of processing Workers Compensation payroll and reimbursements, managed accident investigations and reporting requirements in conformance with state OHS legislation and Occupation Health and Safety Management System.
Alex joined MSVS in May 2006. Alex has been recognised with working with Labour Hire Companies and was recently acknowledged for her efforts with assisting Trojan Workforce with their rehabilitation and return to work programs. Trojan Workforce won an Award in 2008 for the WorkCover Recovery and Return to Work Awards. Alex also has preferred relationships with registered employers, and self insured employers.

Kit's qualifications:

Kit's experience includes:
Kit has an interest in working with people that are suffering from drug and alcohol problems and worked with DrugARM, which is an organisation that provides counselling and support services for individuals trying to combat drug or alcohol problems. This role involved meeting with clients and identifying issues and barriers that they are facing. Kit assisted with providing an initial assessment and formulating treatment plans. Kit was required to monitor this for twelve sessions, with the aim of each client reaching their goals.
 
Kit has also taken an interest in people with mental illness, and worked at the Margaret Tobin mental health unit at Flinders Medical Centre. Kit's role involved spending several hours per week interacting with patients in the wards.
Kit joined MSVS in June 2008, and undertakes rehabilitation and return to work activities with clients suffering from injuries.

Cara's qualifications:

Cara's experience includes:
Cara joined MSVS in July 2008. Cara is currently assisting clients undertaking job-seeking programs with identifying job goals, training and job-seeking activities to assist with securing employment in different jobs. Cara has specialist experience assisting clients with active job-seeking skills, such as developing resumes, writing application letters, addressing selection criteria and interview skills and techniques.
 
Cara has an interest in working with long-term, chronic clients with significant disabilities. Cara has undertaken study in Behavioural Science with a major in Psychology. She is passionate about working with clients with psychological disabilities and assisting with successful return to work or restoration to the community.
Cara is also currently working with CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) clients undertaking the Intensive English and job-seeking skills program developed by MSVS in conjunction with Dennis Aistrope tutoring.

Scott's experience includes:
Scott joined MSVS in July 2009. Scott's background has been working as an Employment Consultant both for Job Network Provider's and WorkCover RISE Unit managing a caseload of job seekers. He is recently been practicing as a Rehabilitation Consultant with assisting injured workers back to their pre-injury employer or with a different employer.
 
Scott also has a Recruitment background and had responsibilities with development of new business and the service of existing business, recruitment, Contractor / Client site visits and orientation, management of Contracts and of Contractors.
 

 

Christine Smitham (Rehabilitation Consultant)

 

Christine's Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Arts

- Graduate Diploma in Social Science in Rehabilitation

- Masters in Business Administration

 

Christine's experience includes:

Christine commenced within the rehabilitation industry in 1990 and despite a brief period working in Hong Kong in the mid 1990s she has worked consistently within this field.  Christine brings a depth of knowledge of the rehabilitation industry that is reflected in her professional practice.   

 

Christine joins MS Vocational Services following a 10 year history with another provider where she worked as a team leader, supervisor and more recently as general manager.  Christine has many years experience in the delivery of rehabilitation services and has an interest in providing services for people experiencing workplace psychological injury.
